This is a simple dish. No onions, eggs or anything special. Just plain old macaroni and cheese.
Ingredients
  • 1 small package macaroni
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound grated cheddar cheese (use a good cheese)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons Butter or margarine
  • Vegetable spray (such as Pam)

Instructions
  1. Bring about 4 cups of water to a boil, add 1 teaspoon salt. Use enough water so that the macaroni will be completely covered. Cook until tender. Drain off all of the water.
  2. Spray a baking dish with vegetable spray.
  3. Place a layer of cooked and drained macaroni in a baking dish, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, continue to layer macaroni and cheese, end with cheese on top. I use all of the cheese.
  4. Place the butter on top of cheese, and pour milk into the dish until almost to the top of the cheese.
  5. Spray a piece of foil with Pam, cover the dish and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes, or until the milk has turned solid. Remove foil and brown for a few minutes.

Notes
* I use a glass dish so that I can see how much milk to add to the dish.
